Retainers now ask the client for the details only they know — and your templates stay editable after import.
Mark a template variable as filled by the client — phone, mailing address, date of birth — and the signing page collects it before the signature, so the client reviews and signs the completed agreement. A saved template's payment plan and variables can now be edited any time in Settings.
A retainer used to need every blank filled by your team before it could go out — including the client's phone number and mailing address, which only the client knows. Now a template variable can be Filled by: Client. Your team sends the agreement without it, the lead's link opens on a short Your detailsstep, and what they type is printed into the agreement before they read and sign it — so the signed document is complete, and the retainer card shows their answers as soon as they arrive. Imports already propose which values are the client's. And a template is no longer frozen once saved: open it in Settings → Templatesto add the payment plan the import couldn't find, or change any variable.
- The client fills their own blanks — required ones before they can sign, with the audit trail recording which fields they provided
- Blank lines in the sent copy, values in the signed copy — the numbering and wording stay identical, and the certificate page notes the date the details came in
- Payment plan and variables are editable on every saved template; changes apply to retainers created from then on
